Periodic Gallery

Rich Rickaby and Monica Russell are two of New York's most creative people, on the sly. Frustrated with the lack of grass roots artistic outlets in the city they decided to pool their talents and create the type of place they wish existed. By combining their party planning, knack for hosting, and artistic flare, they opened the doors to The Periodic - a private gallery, one year ago.

Periodic events are by invitation only and held in Rich's Chelsea apartment. Monica lives directly across the hall, so her place becomes storage and preparation for any catering and costume changes. These events traditionally show the works of a Painter, a Photographer, and a Craftsperson-soaps, jewelry, handbags, and candles have all been exhibited to this end. Different musicians playing the Tabla, Accordion, Jazz Guitar and Hammered Dulcimer have all been present at one show or another and adds a unifying air to the festivities.

Artists and Patrons alike find the atmosphere to be entertaining, light, and encouraging, not quiet and cold like so many art openings. Word of mouth has increased the shows guest list and in it's growth, Richard and Monica have started eyeing larger spaces to host their Periodic events.
